John T.C. Lee
Dr. John T.C. Lee is President and Chief Executive Officer of MKS Instruments. Since joining MKS on 2007, Dr. Lee has held several leadership positions, overseeing the company’s Business Units, Operations, Sales and Marketing functions, until his promotion to CEO in January of 2020.
Prior to joining MKS, Dr. Lee held various leadership roles in the Maydan Technology Center, Wet Clean and Solar Business Groups at Applied Materials. Dr. Lee started his career as a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, eventually becoming Director of the Silicon Fabrication Research Department. He holds a BS from Princeton University and both an MSCEP and a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, all in chemical engineering.
Seth H. Bagshaw
Mr. Bagshaw has served as our Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since May 2010 and as Treasurer since March 2011.
Prior to joining MKS, Mr. Bagshaw held executive financial positions at Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates, Palo Alto Products International, and Waters Corporation, where he was also their CFO of Asia Pacific Region stationed in Singapore. Mr. Bagshaw is a Certified Public Accountant and was a senior manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their High Technology practice. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Associated Industries of Massachusetts. Mr. Bagshaw has a B.S. in Business Administration from Boston University, summa cum laude, and an M.B.A. from Cornell University.
Mark M. Gitin, PhD
Dr. Mark Gitin is Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Light and Motion (L&M) Division. He joined MKS in 2017 as the Vice President and General Manager of the Photonics Business Unit, assumed additional responsibilities for the Instruments and Motion Business Unit, and was promoted to his current position in January 2019.
Prior to joining MKS, Dr. Gitin held various management positions covering a wide range of technologies at Coherent during his more than 20-year tenure, including Vice President of Strategic Marketing, Vice President of Business Development, and Vice President and General Manager. He holds a BSEE from University of California, Davis and Masters and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.
Eric Taranto is Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Vacuum and Analysis (V&A) Division. He has been with MKS for 23 years, holding positions as Vice President & General Manager of Business Units, General Manager, and Engineering Manager.
In his role of Vice President & General Manger, Mr. Taranto has managed the Power Solutions, Plasma & Reactive Gas, Analytical and Control, Integrated Solutions, and Data Analytics Business Units. In 2014, Eric also joined MKS’ Office of the CTO (OCTO), and in 2018 assumed the role to Chair the OCTO team.
Marc Tricard is the VP/GM of the Optical Solution Business, encompassing MKS Instruments optical components and optical assembly activities. Marc has been at MKS since 2018 in various leadership roles.
Prior to joining MKS, Marc led Zygo’s optics business (part of Ametek). He has an MS in Materials Sciences and Engineering from Virginia Tech, and an engineering degree from de l’École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers (ENSAM – Paris, France).
John Williams is the Vice President and General Manager of the Equipment and Solutions (E&S) Division. He joined MKS in February 2019 with the acquisition of ESI, where he held the position of Vice President of Marketing since February 2017.
Prior to joining MKS, Mr. Williams was Vice President of Corporate & Strategic Marketing at FEI, which became part of Thermo Fisher Scientific in 2016. Earlier in his career, Mr. Williams held various marketing and product management positions at leading capital equipment companies such as Lam Research and Brooks Automation. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University – San Luis Obispo.
